Casey Lake

Ooohhh..Noisy presents!
Look at our BABY!!

We celebrated Casey's first birthday yesterday, it was a busy night! Cory did great and handled BBQ for 25 people Ü He got spoiled of course, which he deserved. We went camping over the weekend and he came down with a fever and ear infection..not a good way to start the big boy years.

We got him on antibiotics on Sunday, so he was feeling a little better. The hardest part of the day was explaining to Jayden why all these people weren't here for HIM. He stayed entertained for the most part playing with his cousins outside.
The second hardest (ok well the HARDEST) part of the day was reading Casey his card. Yes I got him a card. I whispered how proud I was to be his mother and how thankful I was for him in my life. He is the sweetest baby and he makes me want to be a better person. I got tearful because this was my last first birthday. My BABY is 1!
I'm so grateful for all of our family. It is so nice to have the ability to get both sides of the family together, we had a great time with a lot of laughs. When Cory and I went to bed that night, I leaned over and said 'We're lucky Babe.' Too bad he was already snoring from his marathon yard care and cooking skills!
Happy Birthday Casey Lake, you make our family complete. Never lose that contagious smile that melts your mother's heart.

Don't try this at home

This is Cory attempting to unravel the balloon that Jayden thought would be fun to put in the ceiling fan. Notice his creative ladder? I wonder where our son gets all of his creative ideas?!

Waking up in the GHETTO..

This morning, Cory went out to start his truck and came back to report that our white vinyl fence had been vandalized with purple spray paint. The criminals were nice enough to provide a potrait of a HUGE male part complete with a saying underneath 'SUCK IT'.

I'm pretty sure our house value increased at least by 10%

I'm just sayin....

Date Night

Cory and I had planned to go to Wendover with some people from work, when that didn't pan out we decided to take advantage of the baby sitter for the night and have a date. We left at 5 pm and headed to West Valley to take a look at a truck for Cory.

As you can see it was a real piece of work!

After Cory dedcided NOT to buy the truck, we headed towards Ogden. We stopped at Robintino's and had a delicious dinner free of crying and whining kids. We had tickets to WiseGuys at 10 pm in Ogden to see Jon Reep winner of the Last Comic Standing season 5. Cory and I watch that show and really enjoyed him. It was hysterical! We got to sit in the front row it's not a huge place but they were great seats anyways. It was something fun and different to do together and I'm glad we went.

What a MESS!

Saturday at work, Cory called to tell me he had found some really nice fruitless crab apple trees for the front yard. Somehow, digging holes for trees means renting a HUGE tractor and that equals digging trenches in the front yard for our down spouts. This is what I came home to after work...YIKES! I'll be sure to include after pictures so you can see when my yard gets back to normal.

This was just the begging of the mess
My beautiful new crab apple trees Ü

I think he just wanted an excuse to play with a tractor.

Bear Lake

We headed with Cory's family this weekend up to Bear Lake. I found a great deal on a 5 bedroom cabin with gorgeous views! We left Friday morning and came home Monday afternoon. It was sooo much fun! We had nights filled with laughs, a lot of sugar, wine and mornings on the deck sipping mimosa's (a yummy mixture of O.J. and champagne)

Me and my guys!

Sunday, we borrowed Maizey's stroller and went on a hike to see the surrounding cabin's. It was a little to chilly for the lake so we made due exploring. Casey was content in the stroller for about 5 minutes and then got to ride on Daddy's shoulders. We only went about 1 mile round trip...it made me realize just how out of shape I am!

Standing on the deck of the cabin
Casey had a great time getting into everything, we practiced going down the stairs backwards as he couldn't stay away from them. He is a trooper on the boat, just not a big fan of his life jacket. Sleeping wasn't the best, he managed around 3-4 hours a night. Which makes for a tired Mommy and Daddy. When Casey would finally sleep, Jayden would be talking in his sleep. I've never been so grateful for my house where everyone has their OWN bedrooms!

Morning exercise

Casey and Jayden found toys to play with, not sure who was having more fun Jayden getting the ride or Casey laughing with big brother.
Enjoying rootbeer floats

We had so much fun together and a lot of laughs. Friday night, we decided to celebrate vacation the right way with 11 pm rootbeer floats. Amber in the background provided some entertainment for us all. Saturday while we were cooking dinner, we all decided to bust a move with Cha Cha Slide. Ü
We were out watching Jayden hit the ball, when we saw a Moose and her baby walking right in front of the cabin. They kept their distance and dispite how fast I ran through the cabin up two flights of stairs, I was still too slow to get a picture. Trust me, it was spectacular. I think it's great to get together as a family. We're reminded all to often that we only have so much time with loved ones. I enjoyed the memories and feel very lucky to have such a close bond with Cory's family.
