Oh No He Didn't!!

Houston - We have a problem! Apparently, Jayden is experiencing a delayed reaction to having a new baby in the house. We've had a rough week or so, it seems like since he came down with the croup, along came the naughty genes with it.

For those of you who know Jayden, he isn't he most well-behaved child but he isn't the worst either. Well as of late, the temper-tantrums have been coming full force (Cory's pet peeve) he stamps his feet or throws himself around the floor wailing the whole time. He has a hard time listening and is always getting into something he shouldn't.

Well, yesterday he had a bad day and was in his room in time out more than not. He asked Cory for something and Cory told him no because he was being naughty. Jayden threw a fit and Cory sent him to his room. Cory followed Jayden into his room and Jayden didn't know it. Jayden went in his room, walked over to his bed dropped his pants and proceeded to PEE all over his bed and floor! Cory yelled 'What are you doing?!' which caused Jayden to turn and pee on more carpet.

Oh my word, I'm not sure if all of us are going to survive this and I haven't decided who isn't going to make it. On another fit of Jayden's he kicked Casey right in his forehead...this is where I'm supposed to take a deep breath, count to ten and NOT beat my child, right?!

ACID Anyone?

Immediately After
Day 2

Most of you that know me, are familiar with my obsession of my face and all the acne that resides there. I go to a esthetician for acne treatments and chemical peels every 6-8 weeks. Last year I had her do something called a 'Hate Peel' and really liked the results so I did it again!
Basically, after she is done poking a needle in my pores and zits and 'expressing' them with a tool that resembles a sewing needle and her hands. Then she rubs an acid over my face over and over again until it 'frosts' (the skin dies and it turns white).
It takes about 10 days of extreme ugly and your old skin peels off and new, healthy skin is there to replace it. It does wonders for acne scarring as well as wrinkles. As often as I do it, I told Laurie 'I may have zits until I'm 40 but I'll have the face of a teenager!' No wrinkles!
Yes, it HURTS!! In fact as she starts under the lights, she tells me 'Welcome to Hell'. I have to hold a fan on my face when she puts the acid on it, because it feels like hot liquid magma and that it's rubbing layers of my face off...oh wait...IT IS! I decided and be brave to show you some pictures of before and after. I'm on day 3 and my skin is really tight, shiny and looks like a sort of a scab. I will update pictures and do a before/after when it's all said and done. People give me the strangest looks Ü
BTW- Crystal is AMAZING and does everything!

2 Month Appointment

I can't believe Casey is already two months old!! We headed into Tanner Clinic for his appointment and he is doing great. He weighed in at 12 lbs 4 oz 24 inches long. For some reason that sounded huge to me, but when I looked at Jayden's two month appointment he was 11 lbs 14 oz 24 inches long. No too big of a difference! Dr. Evans told me that Casey shows signs of reflux, he spits up whenever I put him in his car seat and he doesn't always do well in his swing. Dr. Evans said anytime he's in a position that pushed his legs towards his belly can make it uncomfortable.

He got 5 vaccinations (only 3 shots total!) Jayden was very excited for Casey to get his shots, he kept asking the doctor, "Are you going to poke my brother now?" We had to have Jayden looked at as well, he was sent home with a fever on Wednesday from school and had a nasty cough. With all the swine flu hysteria I was nervous (I know..SHOCKING) It ended up being a mild case of croup, so it'll run it's course and we should be good in a couple of days.

Casey got a fever in the middle of the night after his shots, I gave him some Tylenol and he seems to be doing fine, just a bit fussier than normal. So, we survived the first set of shots...onto the next in two more months!

Family BBQ

Jayden & Grandma racing
Rocking Casey
Me, Cory's Mom Diane and Casey

Me trying to get Diane and Ashley to carry such luck!
Last weekend we got together at Cory's grandparent's house for a BBQ. It was Papa's 85th birthday, Grandma's birthday and their wedding anniversary. We had a great time and yummy roasts from Snider's. It's been too long since we all got together, Cory's cousin Amber surprised everyone and flew in from California! I'm so lucky to have such fun in-law's, we had a blast!

Laughing at mommy

Casey is doing good, he has somewhat of a schedule. He gets a night time bottle at 8 and goes to sleep sometime between 9 and 10 pm. He sleeps until 2 am and then again until 5 or 6 am. He likes morning naps, and will fall asleep in his crib by himself in the morning (haven't quite mastered that at night yet, but I don't mind rocking him at all!) He likes to make eye contact and has started to find his voice. He smiles a lot. Cory and him haven't quite found their pace yet, Cory says he cries all the time when he's here. I don't buy that! He has chubby chubby legs and I love to squeeze them. I nurse him two times a day, at 5 pm and once in the middle of the night. That way, he still gets some breast milk and I won't have to pump when I get back to work. I've actually find myself looking forward to the nursing times...he loves to snuggle. I'm sure there is a lot more to update on, but that's it for now!

Casey not too excited to be in Jayden's Fort
Giving Jayden the Jack Nicholson face
Jayden has been adjusting well to life as a big brother, he loves to help. Anytime Casey cries, he tells him:
'It be ok brother, there's no monsters here'.
When Casey gets really mad and does the baby scream till his face is purple, Jayden plugs his ears and says:
'Mommy, I don't like that noise!'

PuPpY LoVe

It's a hard knock life....

Grandma Gen & Grandpa Bill

Grandma and the boys

Grandpa Bill and Casey (Same haircut!)

Cory's grandparents came up to meet Casey this past week from Logandale, NV. His grandma is so sweet, she made us a beautiful quilt and always brings a ton of trucks and toys for Jayden. We don't get to see them often, so we cherish every visit we get. She raised 4 boys, so I love to hear her advice and she is always so understanding.

I'm always so thankful for Cory's grandmothers. Both of my grandma's past away when I was in the third grade so I didn't get a chance to know them very well. I feel so spoiled to have the opportunity to be a part of Cory's family on both sides, they are all so loving and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect family for my in-laws!
