Remember Me?

Have you seen this little tag going around on blogs? I've left comments on a few, so now I've got to do #2 on the list. So let's play:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Summer Days

Super Slide!

Yesterday I put up our new slide 'The Plunge'. My mom split it with me...thanks Grandma Jo!! We watched my friend Kallie's kids and I had invited Laurie and her kids to come over, Lisa brought the babies for a bit. It took Jayden awhile to warm up to it, as you can see from the slide show he liked his tiny castle slide a bit better. Daxton (Kallie's boy) who is a couple of months older than Jayden went right up the slide..he had no fear!

The older kids seemed to enjoy it, we had to remind Cole & Ethan to refrain from gymnastics...but they did great! I think Brynne caught air in one of the pictures. It was fun to have everyone over, we cooked hot dogs for the kids and Laurie got some Pace's take out. BTW, my brother in law (James) ate 2 hamburgers, 1 hot dog and lots of fries. That boy can EAT!! We also introduced him to our candy cabinet..he forgot how good baby ruth's are. Cory and I always have candy in the house, candy, pop you name it! I love to spoil my nieces & nephews, it makes me smile when they come to Aunt Kimmies and can play in the fridge or get fun snacks.

I spent about 45 minutes today getting that thing back in it's bag...I swear they do something to it so it never goes back the way it came. I sat on it, jumped on it and worked up a sweat. I might have muttered a few curse words along the way :( But I did get it back in the bag, so what if it's bulging around the sides! Needless to say it was a lot easier to put it up then take it down! At least the neighbors got a laugh I'm sure!

We hope to have a lot more fun summer days with the slide & pool, hope you enjoy the pictures!

Here Fishy, Fishy

I've wanted to post a picture of our waterfall this year and have failed to do so until now. Cory built this for me 3 years ago and it's taken about that long for everything we planted to truly come to life and look spectacular.

We bought 4 fish, just goldfish because Koi are way expensive. They all four lasted all three years even through the winter freezing the pond. I named them Fred, Ethel, Lucy & Ricky. Two of them mysteriously disappeared this year, I'm thinking a neighbors cat got lucky fishing one morning. Anyway, there are two fish left who are quite big. They started out at 2 inches and they've made it up to 6 inches!

Last year, while feeding the fish we found a garden snake bathing on a rock under the waterfall...I think I screamed, Cory went and got a shovel and after several attempts took care of it. I'm scared to weed the back part now, because who knows what's living in there. But for the most part, we keep it under control.
I love to sit on the front porch at night, see the light on the pond and listen to the waterfall, Cory did such a great job on it!

What the??!!

Here is what Cory came home with tonight...needless to say I was speechless! For those of you who aren't car savvy...'67 Mustang Coupe.
It was the latest and greatest deal that he'd found. I must say, Cory has such vision to be able to look at these 'treasures' and see the possibilities...maybe that's why he married me...he saw the possibilities ;)

He has a lot of plans for our new addition, which should feel right at home along with the other projects he has going a.k.a. POS's! Let's take a quick review:
1946 Ford Pickup (Storage Shed, doesn't run well it did once)
1967 Mustang Coupe (Look at the pictures...need I say more!)
1973 Ford F350/Old Blue (This one has a place in my heart, solely from who Cory bought it from...thanks Papa! He's had this one the longest, they've been together almost 8 years - such competition for me!
Notice all 3 are Fords that he is working on, yet he drives an 04 Chevy Duramax (I love lifted trucks, so it's my favorite)

Cory has a condition that I call Vehicle ADD, he loves loves loves to buy buy buy usually buys high, sells low. Still can't figure that one out! I think mostly he loves the idea that he can be the one to make it live up to it's potential. I'm told I have to say now, 'I can't complain because he spent a year finishing our basement'

The good thing is that we never usually have these treasures for long. He buys with the intent to finish, usually waits until he gets frustrated with the process or finds another 'astonishing deal' and sells again. He loves to barter with people about prices of cars. He'll drive through a neighborhood, see a parked car and knock on the door to ask if they'll sell!

Jayden's already caught the fever and loves helping dad. So I guess there is only one thing left to say, welcome home Ford Mustang, welcome home!

I Survived!

Today I overcame a hurdle I've been nervous for since starting in the Corporate Training Department, I presented in Manager's Meeting!
To give a little explanation, every month all of the managers of the credit union (approx 80) get together along with the Vice Presidents and sometimes the President (he wasn't there this time:) to discuss items regarding the Credit Union. My manager usually presents a Service topic for the rest of the managers to train to their employees for the month. I finally got my nerve up and asked to present the service topic this month!
I was so so nervous, but once I got up on stage it was fine! I was able to even add a little humor and made it through without stumbling too much.
Just another barrier broken through! I love pushing myself to be better and add something more each day and it feels good to have success, at least for today :)
It feels even better that my mom was there to see it, she has taught me so much about service and the importance of being the best at what you do...I only hope to be as half as good as her some day. (Love you Mom!)

Star Valley

We went camping this weekend with The Younger's and my parents. We met up with my parents at their lot in Star Valley. It was a GREAT weekend, a nice get-a-way from the 100 Degree weather and into the mountains with the cool high 80's!

We had a fun filled weekend with hiking up to 'The Periodic Spring' with the whole family. (Yes, Dad made it the up the mountain without falling into a crevasse!) It was really fun...Cory wasn't too impressed with the 10 mile dirt road and his truck. But he was a trooper and made the truck ride and hiked the whole way!

Jayden loved throwing rocks into the river, a bit scary since the water was really high and fast. The spring was beautiful at the top, notice in the picture I'm gripping onto the mountain..it was really high and steep! There was still snow up there and you could just feel the cold water coming out of the mountain.

On the way down, I ran into my high school friend Andrea and her husband, talk about an unlikely meeting! It was fun seeing them.
We also had fun at the pool, Jayden is doing so well with being brave and swimming. He also got to play with Uncle James in the bumper boats and we went on a bike ride around the park and surrounding cabins.

We had a great time with The Youngers & my parents. We don't do that stuff very often, so I'm glad we went. Cole got to ride up with us and home, he entertained Jayden so I was grateful. We had a few scares, like Jayden running out in the middle of the road and almost getting hit by a car. Brynne took Jayden & Harrison for a walk in the wagon and when she came back the wagon was empty. But we all made it home safely! Poor Laurie didn't get much sleep with little Alison & Harrison at night. She does such a great job with all of her kids, she amazes me!
Before we went up, I emailed my sisters and asked them to put together a 'Top 10' list of their favorite memories of each of us. So the three of us compiled our own top 10 of each other. I also put one together for my mom and dad. I was so excited to read them to my parents when we got up to Star Valley..however, Laurie had the same idea. She had printed them the just like I did...we raced to the trailer to be the first one to read the top 10! We must be related ;) It was fun to read them to mom and dad. They were mostly funny...the kind that's only funny to your family and no one else.. a couple tear jerkers. Mostly it reminded us of how lucky we are to have sisters and two parents who love us and gave us good examples to live on in our own families!

On the way home, we blew out a tire on the trailer that scared me a bit. Of course my prepared husband had the jack & every tool you can imagine in the truck. I always ask 'Why are you bringing all that?' every time we go. Much to Cory's satisfaction, he was able to look at me and say 'THIS is why I bring this stuff!!' I'm glad I have such a handy man husband!!
It was a really fun weekend, but it's so nice to be home. As I look at all the weeds in my backyard, I'm thinking to myself...that's what I'll be doing next weekend :(
