Starling

When I got home from work with Jayden last week, he wanted to see the fish in our pond. As we walked to the front of the house we heard a baby bird being noisy. This isn't unusal because every year we have a nest in our eves above the front door, but this time it was quite a bit louder than normal.
Jayden proceeded to yell 'Bird, mommy, Bird!' and sure enough, there was a baby bird who seemed to have fallen off the roof. He was making quite a racket, and I didn't want to leave him there so Jayden had this great idea to get a shoe box and take it to the local shelter a.k.a. West Point Aviary http://www.utahaviary.com/

Lisa was so great! She took our little bird without hesitation and had him eating within minutes! She's done her homework and found out that our little bird is a Starling. Quite common for people to take these birds in as pets and they even talk.
Sun up to sun down he eats, then sleeps at night. Even Kayli has learned to feed him. We're glad we had a part in helping the little guy..if you can't tell by the smile on Jayden's face.

The only disagreement we had was the name..I voted for Star and Lisa voted Peepers. Since she's feeding him, her vote won.

Good luck Star!! (he he!)

Jasmine

Happy Birthday Jasmine! My good friend Celeste who is currently over in the UK welcomed her first baby on May 6th. She weighed in at 7 lbs 15 oz and was delivered via c-section. I can't believe all of her beautiful hair and her chubby cheeks. Makes me want to squeeze 'em! I hope all is well with Mommy & Daddy. I'm sure pugsley will make a great big brother..at least a furry, snorty one :)

St. George

Last weekend I had to go down to St. George to train the new employees for the branch they're building. So Cory and I decided to make a family trip out of it. His Uncle Bob & Aunt Anne live down there with their kids and families. Cory lived with them while he attended Dixie College for about a year and they've been close ever since. We camped in Hurricane, which by the way had Hurricane force winds ALL the time! Camping wasn't all that spectacular but we were able to get in two fun nights with the family. Cory's grandma Gen (in picture with Uncle Bob) and grandpa Bill were able to come up from Logandale, NV for a BBQ. Jayden had so much fun playing with his cousins, they had 5 ranging in age from 7 years to 9 months. Let's see how good I do remembering all the names! Ryan & Melinda have 2 boys Logan & Tyler with a little girl on the way. Brian & Marcie have a little girl Mckenna with another little girl on the way. Andy & Emily have two boys (none on the way) Carter & Luke and then Brandon & Camille are expecting their first in 2 months. Needless to say it's a busy busy family! They were so welcoming and Cory absolutely loves being with them, you can see it in his face whenever they're around. They are such a special family and it was truly quality time at it's best. I really had a good time visiting with Anne and the girls. Cory and I decided it's something we'll have to plan each year. The Monday after we were there, Bob fell ill and had to spend some time in the hospital. Bob, we love you and hope you are doing well!

Brynne's Birthday

Two weeks ago we went to Classic Skating in Layton for my niece's birthday. Cory had to work late, so I loaded Jayden up and off we went. I wasn't for sure if he'd like it or not, he's been playing with scooter's at daycare and seems to do ok. He actually was pretty shy at first, he wouldn't go on the rink with the scooter, that might have something do with the fact they only had Dora scooters left :) After about an hour he let Mommy push him around the rink (the entire rink ;) with him on it. We had a good time with everyone. Laurie...I'm still laughing about your husband on the harness! LOL!! It was actually a good time, since I work 40 hours a week it's hard to find time to do fun quality things together. I was glad Jayden and I were able to have a date!

DEAL!

For those of who that don't realize what a wild child...ok maybe freak is a better word that I am. I went down to SLC and tried out for Deal or No Deal! I forced my poor friend Morgan to go with me. We met at Davis Hospital at 7:30 am and headed down to SLC. We parked at the Delta Center and rode TRAX (my first & last time...scary people) to the R.C. Willey warehouse. By the picture above, this is how many people were there that early..auditions didn't start until 10 am. We stood in line until 3:00 p.m. when it was finally my turn. Morgan wasn't with me, she made it until right before then and had to take a break outside in the sun. I can't say I blame her, it was the longest day of my life! Anyway, you had to run up too the table they directed you to and there were 10 contestants to a table. You had 30 seconds to make a first impression so I sang the National Anthem. J/K! I said something about I'm a Corporate Trainer for the largest CU in the state of UT and I get people reved up for their jobs during the day and at night I rev up my own engine to my Harley-Davidson. I was born on April fools day and supposed to be a boy and I've been foolin people my whole life since! Well, I MADE IT! That's right, my application is in the pool they select from. I had to stand in another line and say my stuff over again. So keep your fingers crossed! BTW..Thanks for stickin it out with me Morgan..You're the BEST!!

What were we thinking?

So we have had a trampoline hiding in the shed from a loving Auntie Shan for the last year and haven't put it together. Cory decided early this spring that it was time for it to come out. Jayden can see our neighbors on all sides of the fence have one and would get excited to see the kids jumping. He was terrified at first, he's always been afraid of heights. But it didn't take too long for him to be out there jumping all around scaring the daylights out of his mother. I'm fairly certain I'll die of a heart attack by the age of 28. Needless to say, you can see by the picture Jayden isn't the only one enjoying the trampoline. As for me, apparently the whole bladder issue while your pregnant...doesn't go away. I learned the hard way..if you've had children DO NOT jump on a trampoline. At least not without Depends ;)
